An unusual french empire ormolu mantel clock of small size celebrating wine. the base of oval form set on toupee feet with applied ormolu mounts . on the base is a wine barrel with a bacchic figure sitting upon it holding a goblet & a pan pipe. surrounding the whole is a arbor formed with vine leaves & grapes. the barrel has a fine signed french watch movement within. the convex white enamel dial digned gregson a paris. circa 1815.
